Are these brackets for an OHC engine?
Any body recognize these? I think/thought they are engine lift brackets for the OHC engine, but am told they might not be. I don't recall where I got them from, just kind of turned up in my pile of stuff. Thoughts?

They bolt cleanly to the cam housing bolts.

Definitely not from an OHC, but funny how good they fit.
I've been collecting V8 lift brackets in an attempt to make up something similar to work on the OHC 6 and that would appear factory.

Okay, I'm convinced they are not from the OHC, so the mystery becomes, what are they from???
Thanks!

They have been identified as off a Ford engine! Which makes sense as the previous owner of my house/barn left a ton of FE Ford parts laying around.

Wouldn't these put a lot of stress on the cam housing bolts?

I didn't think so. Worked like a champ. I did run the chain through both holes of each bracket to distribute the load across two bolts.

Finally found 2 brackets;
This post got me thinking again about an old picture from the 1968 Hot Rod Mag article of a private tour they were given of Mac McKellar's toy room.
On one of the experimental engines I noticed they used the brackets off the V8. So after digging some up I decided to bend up a pair and keep them handy. These stamped steel brackets are available from most Pontiacs Part suppliers.
