118850 making it not only #1 of the 20 Trans Am produced at the Van Nuys plant in 1969, but also the first period.
I'm confused, and no questioning you. Did Van Nuys plant start with a different numbering sequence? My Norwood built car starts with N111***

No worries question away!!!! Yes they started with actually a lower number... The 677 Norwood cars started with VIN# 101553 and ended with # 119864, The 20 Van Nuys started with #118850 and ended with #119242.

Wait, out of several hundred 69 T/As, only 20 were built in Van Nuys?! That's crazy, learn something new every day.

When the TA's were announced Van Nuys was already planning to shut down Firebird production.

Can Ames post some pictures for those of us that are too far away to see the car? Options, etc? It would be awesome.

As I recall, all 69 T/As were ram air IIIs, no IVs.

Yes, a list does exist and it includes which ones have particular options like A/C, Stack gauges, vinyl top etc.. It is not a published list and is not public. I've seen it but do not have a copy of it.

False

Of the 20 built in Van Nuys, 1 was a RA III/3spd, 13 were RA III/4spd, 5 were RA III/Auto and 1 was RA IV/4spd VIN #22337L119139

Since the list exists, it would be interesting to know how many of them still survive. I bet it is over half.

Okay, I must have been thinking about just the convertibles.
