Great color and nice job! That saddle interior is one of those odd combinations people sometimes ordered. A buddy bought used Torino SCJ that was red with a gold interior. Story was the original owner thought the color chip looked more like a parchment when he ordered it new..
I think a set of Judge stripes in the right color might pull the exterior and interior color together. Either way, it's still a very nice car.

Thanks Dennis,,,can't wait for it to be done and hit the road! I'm pleased with the way its coming out. IMO the CC could use a little more wet sanding here and there. With the original 455 at 490hp 570trq it should go pretty good. Been watching your 455HO build !!!

Well its home. Everything done except for decals and stripes which we'll do in a couple of months. Could use more wet sanding but I'll leave that for now. Also waiting for the 15x8 rally 2 wheels for the back which were ordered in August from wheels vintiques through jegs. I've got the 255/60-15 bfgs but nothing to put them on. I ordered a custom 4.75 backset but month after month they say they're waiting for either the rings or the centers so they can weld them together. Fronts are 15x7 with 4" BS with 245/60-15.

Thanks for the compliments. Question,,,I have Hagerty... I raised value to 37,000....sound reasonable? No one around here I believe does classic car value and I'm not sure I really need to.

Scott, I'd go 45-50k minimum on your car. The premium is relatively cheap compared to trying to find another like it...which you won't.

Thank you to Steve for sending me tracings of the openings. Got driver side done....just didn't look right without the vents in my 70. I put the originals back in. Didn't even realize until after that the nos rear 1/4's don't come with the cutouts

Yes, asto-ventilation replaced vent windows on F-bodies (69 ?) and a response to a NHSA finding about exhaust leaks.
ps just for S&G the '72 wagon was the last A-body to have vent windows. |

Scott, glad those helped out. It's always a little scary cutting around freshly painted parts.
Just to be different the 70-72 A-body converts did not have the vents, I guess they figured the rag top leaked enough air that they didn't need them! |

Been poking at this now and then,,,attempting to do the stripes myself. Bought the application gel that they offered and tried the front fender. Big time bubbles caught in the middle. Tried poking holes with small needle but just too many. Ripped it back off and ordered another fender stripe. Did the door and tail piece today and used soapy water solution instead. Made sure to do up and down with the squeegee. Came out better but still some bubbles. Must be an art to this. Waited 3 hours to take off outer layer like they wanted. Will some time help out?
The 2nd pic is just one spot of bubbles.

Time doesn't appear to help. Trying to pop bubbles with a pin didn't much help me. Did you possibly use a hair blow dryer to work the bubbles? That seems to work better on mine. Also, Did you free hand it or dry fit decals on the car?

What kind of squeegee do they give you? I've never applied Judge decals but I've applied a lot of them over the years to other things... Model airplanes mainly. I have found the best squeegee to be something very firm such as the edge of a credit card or even soft wood like the cheap yard sticks they give you in a hardware store or even better, balsa wood. Soft enough to conform to the curves of the surface but firm enough to really press down the actual decal surface.
I've used the soapy water method many times but only when it's an adhesive backed sticker. It does help to use a little heat while you are burnishing with the squeegee. Also, l always start from the midpoint and work out in both directions as l go. Just some thoughts.

The squeegee Phoenix sends is pretty stiff plastic. I sprayed both stripe back side and vehicle with the water/ soap solution, laid down stripe and started in the middle. Took squeegee and worked the solution out the edges. Can't see if there is any bubbles left until you pull off outer layer 3 hours later which is now too late. Going to a professional today and ask if they can do any better. It doesn't look horrible but I'd like it to lay perfectly flat and smooth.
I did use a needle and a hair dryer which can get rid of alot of it but not the smaller ones.

Finally was able to apply stripes with no bubbles. Had a guy show me what I was doing wrong.
