If you had been racing each other when you got those redlights you would have won, the rule is first or worst rule infraction loses.

That would have been nice but when we did line up together, he had a +.0288 reaction time to my +.1107.
plus he is 3 tenths and 6 mph faster than me.
i was hoping get him off the line but that didn't work.

BVR421 you are wrong about the red light rule. The RULE says FIRST red NOT THE WORST!!

IHRA is considering changing their red light rule to read first or worst...and many expect that change to happen on January 1, 2010. Most polls that I have read believe the first or worst is the most fair red light rule.....I do.

Ron,
in this scenario my friend was red by -.0845.
so he had to go red before me, right?
which is also the worst between us.
now if we were bracket racing and he spotted me and we both went red?
is that when the worst comes into play?

NO!! At the present time there is NO WORST RULE......only FIRST. Some racers believe this gives the faster car an advantage. What I mean by that if you and I are racing and you dial in at 12.00 seconds and I dial in at 9.00 seconds you will start 3 seconds before me. If I'm paying attention and you red light the win light in my lane will come on and I know I have won so I can leave any time I want and will not lose unless I cross the center line. Also some tracks do not have what is called a blind tree. A blind tree is where you can't see your competitors tree. If it is not blinded I can see if you start clean or red light. If I see your red light come on I will not wait....I will launch and even if my red light is worst you will lose because you were first.....not fair in my opinion.
