Edelbrock stuff is made by Motec, quality stuff. Only reason they show a 'kit' for Pontiacs is because they have out of the box multiport intakes for Pontiacs. You can buy the intakes separately, and use whatever ECU you want.

I have decided that I will be going with the Holley sniper system in the classic finish. And I will be running their inline pump that comes in the kit. I will probably place my order soon because I've got some overtime coming up! Any how.....Has anyone run one of these fuel tank sumps on the bottom of their tank and the. Plumbed their fuel pump into it? I've used them in a few different diesel applications and they worked very well.

I would suggest using tanks inc tank and in tank pump, they are available for your body, the sump is better, and in tank pumps have a low failure rate.

I just placed an order through summit for the
550-516K Holley sniper efi master kit in the classic gold finish. Expected ship date from them is 4/7/17 and on holleys website they are saying 4/21/17 ship date. So we will see when I get it. Excited for it nonetheless!!

Ended up cancelling my order for the Holley sniper efi being how they decided to push the ship date back another month and a half. So, I ordered a Fitech mean street efi tbi and a robbmc power surge fuel well. Have read good things about the Fitech. The only reason I am going with a fuel well is because I don't have the funds to go with a tanks inc tank and intank pump at this time.

You made the right decision. Just put the 800 h.p. one on a friends Camaro. Easy install, the car runs so good his wife drives it now. drove it around a while and let the computer learn. The next day 38 degrees out, he reached thru the window turned the key and car fire right up and stayed running. It made the car super driveable. You will have to mess with your cold idle setting to get it right. You will be happy. They have a longer warranty then the others too.

Why does 72formula400 want to switch to FI.

I dont see any 1000+ reply carb threads.

Improved driveability, easy cold/hot starts, good clean power, just improving as technology advances is all. Car runs great with the 750 Edelbrock carb but, just thinking it would be a nice improvement, since I want to drive this car every possible moment I can during our short summers here in ND.

He needed a gas tank anyway so he bought the tank with the pump in it, we just had to mate the lines.
I know another guy with a Mustang went from 12 mpg to 19 mpg. I know that don't matter to many with there old cars, but it proves how much more efficient the FI is.

Get rid of the old gas tank, get rid of the manual pump and run a proven setup. The cost ends up only being about $100.00 more.

I have no experience with the sniper system, but I would assume it should function similarly to the FiTech. Just make sure you fix and pre-oxygen sensor exhaust leaks and that the electrical on your car is in good order with good grounding.
X2

I'm happy with my FiTech 1200pa. I had a few hiccups in the beginning, but mine was a very early model & FiTech made it right.

I've had my fitech for about a year and love it. No more driving with one foot on the brake and one on the gas. I did have an issue early on with my fuel command center but fitech made it right. Fitech also sent me a zip file so I could update my ECU to the most current programing as mine was a very early unit.

Hi,

Would really appreciate if you could share it with me. I might be in the same situation since I read some of their latest updated instructions but my menues on the controller don't look exactly the same . I can pm you my e-mail.

Otherwise I agree with what's been said.
Very good upgrade in my -still short- experience, I'm particular in driveability and throttle response as some others said !

Running it with the FCC in a 73 Firebird formula and working great so far.

Coming up on 300 miles on my FITECH with FCC and couldn't be happier. I find a reason to drive the car anytime now. I had a vacuum leak which caused some havoc and a thermostat issue. Fixed both of them and the last 50 miles have been very uneventful. It still has some learning to do at above 4500 as its pretty rich as well at anything more than 1/3 throttle in 5th gear as its too rich there as well. Both of those areas are showing AFR's of 10-11. I think it just needs so more driving time.

Pretty much anything under 3000 rpms in 1-4 and it is showing very little adjustment.

It has tamed my 455. Get in, start it and drive. Before it was feather the throttle to get it to start, keep a foot on it as it warmed up and then go.

It would be cool if there was a tripower set up.

Got the throttle body installed and waiting on some last few fittings to show up to complete the install and get it fired up. I have all the wiring hooked up except for the switched 12v that needs to be "hot" in crank and run. Any body know a wire to look for that will be hot in crank and run? That's the only thing that I am questioning right now. So, any guidance would be appreciated!! Thanks
