Default Value of a 70-72 shaker scoop

I have a shaker scoop 481689, solenoids are missing and dont have the base just the scoop. It is in good condition no chunks missing but has some cracks has been in storage for many years. I want to get rid of it but have no idea what to ask? Also the door is there and looks to be in perfect condition. Here are a couple pics. Thanks for any help.

That looks like the ring clamp style shaker (73-up). Maybe someone added the flapper door.

Service replacement that someone removed the mounting ears? We need more pics. The door hinge setup, top side of metal ring where mounting ears should be, close up of the edge of the metal mount ring.

To answer your question I would put it 200.00 to 250.00 in preasent unidentified condition. Its either a messed with service replacement or a modified 73-76

I am sure it was a original unit i first thought may have been from a 74 GTO i had many years ago but when i googled the number it said 70 to 72 and a totally different number for 74 GTO. Looks like it was blue originally, the flapper door looks like its always been there has plastic mounting ears where the rod sits in don't think someone would be able to make those. Looks like a little piece of metal was tacked on the inside of the metal plate where the hole is for some reason actually i can take that off barely holding on there. I will get some better pics of it but figured a couple hundred bucks would be all it's worth anyway.

What I can tell you for sure is it was not original to a 70-72. Possible service replacement, Pontiac modified 73-76 units by spot welding on mounting ears to replicate the 70-72 unit. Years ago there was a kit that was marketed that included the shaker solenoid brkt, door, plastic door frame and T-bar. The parts were reproductions of the original parts not reengineered parts like the presently available kit.

Norwood is correct, and the 1970 versions are noticeably thin at the rear of the scoop on top.

Ok, it looks identicle to my 71 Trans Am scoop but the ears were removed from the ring. All the holes the bar to mount solenoids are identicle and has the same part #. Thanks for the help. I will have a look at a 70 scoop but yes pretty sure that one does look different than this one, i was just going off info when i googled it and said 70 to 72 while 74 GTO is a totally different number. Thanks for all the help.

You can't take the ears off of an original 71 trans am scoop, only a service unit. I can safely say it is not a 74 GTO unit.

Norwood, quick question.

are the rivet holes in the same place, 74 GTO and 73-76 TA?

I plan to take a couple 74 GTO's I have and change bottoms to the 73-76 TA's so I can run on my 74 SD.

'74 GTO had a functional air door like '70-72 TA, but used one solenoid to operate rather than two.
I'm with you Craig, most likely a modded service replacement. Probably still worth $200. to someone if the cracks aren't too major.

So the service replacement would have the same part# stamped as a original 70 to 72 scoop?
