Default Holiday Art

Happy Holidays Pontiac folks! A little Pontiac Christmas art. I draw these in high resolution at 36"x23" and for some reason they show up crappy here.

That's a great picture. Do you have a website or store where other pics can be seen? Would love to see more of your work.

Thanks guys. I don't have a web site, they were on FB until people started stealing them, it's a hobby I do mostly for fun, not going to get rich from car art. They print up to 36"x 23 inches so my walls and grandkids walls are covered lol. I call the red car Intura. It's a '60 Ventura with a '60 Buick Invicta rear end, kinda fun idea. The 3 pics show how I create these, I actually draw them, but my brush strokes are done with a stylus or mouse. The green '32 close-up shows the details that don't show clearly in these posts.

Thanks for the additional examples. Really cool. The cars are great but what really jumps out are the settings you put them in. The backgrounds, repair garage, drag strip, details of the ceiling in the Mustang barn, really neat.

That is cool. Do you draw these for People if they send you pics of their cars? I have 5-6 vehicles of friends/ family I would like to have pics of. Something of them all together. Would make a great gift.

Not until I do my own cars! That is a huge project. I could probably block sand an entire car faster lol. I prefer single car views, they don't take as long. Email the pics of the cars and if I'd like to add those cars to my collection, especially if I have owned some of them as well, I'll consider it. What kind of background?

Can you import a picture and then start from the picture?

I would be open to most backgrounds. The cars would be 68 Firebird, 65 Impala, 66 Chevelle, 69 Cutlass, 71Monte Carlo and, 71Gmc.

Yes, but it's actually easier for me to start from my own sketch. All the car parts in the photo just get in the way. That's one reason I quit submitting on FB car art sites, the art that people submit is obviously reworked or traced photos. Almost everything on these sites is manipulated photos. At what point is it no longer art? And what is the self satisfaction of tracing or modifying a pic unless it's totally monetary.

You can see how I blow apart the sketch and create the individual parts. For hot rods, I like to draw out the frame rails to get the axle proportions correct, just like when I build a real frame. A guy at a car show a few years ago wanted to know what a chop would look like on a '51 Plymouth, kind of a ugly car but, my vision was below.
