Default Dyno results....etc

First and foremost I want to thank 2 guys who are a HUGE part of this combination and the ensuing results.

The best thing about both of them is they are Industry pros and Available to YOU to do the same thing for your program if you are serious about making improvements on any level from street strip to all out CRAZY power. And for the bang the buck spent is very fair....no unlimited budget here! Both are one man shows so a little patience can be required when trying to reach them. It'll be worth the wait.

Scott brown Competition Components http://www.buyracingparts.com/

IF A FELLA WAS LOOKING FOR A PARTNER/GUY IN YOUR CORNER STYLE VENOR IN AN ENGINE PROJECT HE IS YOUR GUY! From specing custom internal parts to grinding cams or even seeing the machining through to completion,He is your do it yourself resource. I build these engines in my garage. Yes I steer the ship, but lets be clear.....You can't do what i've done without some specialized parts that are not coming from mass sale vendors. You wanna sit at the big boy table? He's your guy.

Scott and I have developed a very good friendship over the years. Our initial meeting was 14+ years ago and my confidence in Scotts ability to extract the most from a Combo has never been higher than now. After we made 1067 on the last go round we (scott, myself and john) saw the opportunity to make a significant improvement. Most of the increases over that combo came at the hands of Scott. There are pistons, and there are really good pistons, cams, etc that make more power. FOR REAL.

Scott was tasked with designing the rods, pistons, cam etc. YES there is some secret sauce on the pistons and cam specs. NO I won't share them. They are industry insider proprietary info that is not mine to give away. I asked Scott to give me a cam that will hold on/improve RPM as much as possible, I wanted to increase compression with a very modest dome that would not hurt power, and a cool guy ring pack that I could afford. The results are pretty clear.

In particular I was concerned that adding more stroke would hurt Rpm and To make HP you NEED rpm. I really did cut Scott loose on the cam and other parts. I literally found out the cam specs when I opened the box. I trust him that much.

John Marcella Marcella Manifolds (his number is in his sig)

Holly crap, where to start. For all those that think he's an awesome welder and good with intakes and OK with ports......IT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS NOW THATS WRONG. The man knows how to get air in a engine plain and simple.

In my long friendship with john he has more than impressed me, he's amazed me more than once. He has an uncanny gift of knowing what the engine wants and the ability to look past physical limitations of a raw part. NO my valves were not moved around. Yes John is a BADAZZ! My heads still flowed the same number as before. John says "don't worry it'll make more and show up in the car, its what the motor wants". INDEED he was correct.

The interesting thing about this last improvement is that very little improvements were made to the head. And John didn't even do it he just said "open up the exhaust a bit,It'll help". What that means is that the top end manifold/heads were nearly unchanged from the 1067. We realized in that dyno session that the heads and intake were better than we thought and able to support a lot more with some other changes!

John is also responsible for head/intake improvements in many bad to the bone N/A and PA combos nationally. For those serious about stepping up and making a number i could not recommend him more. Look at it like this.....I don't think there is a car in milan all motor that has made a 7 second pass that does not have a set of heads and intake that john did not do. Thats a pretty bold example of his capabilities.

Oh yea.....he's a good welder too

In addition there are a few others that I am grateful for their expertise/support and friendship
Henry- head work valvejobs repairs etc
Dwight Asmus- a consummate gentleman and alway there lending info and parts
Mark Luhn- His new oil pump is bad to the bone! great job.
Bop- for suppling us with products that are otherwise unobtainium.
Chris Uratchko- Sharing Info and assisting with parts, Tuning advise and being a great guy
Joe Sollar- Champion Performance. Outstanding machine work and service

I am the fortunate recipient of what I feel to be outstanding results. 6 months ago I would have thought eheads making 1100+ impossible.

we changed
stroke +.100 +13 cu inches
compression +1.3 c/r
cam+ bigger and meaner....in a nice way
cool guy ring pack

Oh yeah, and we DO already see a fairly easy 30HP with a few updates for over the winter.

I have not been on in awhile and to come on today and see this. KUDOS to all that made this happen, truly amazing and encouraging for the die hard Pontiac traditionalist.
John M might know a little something about air flow LOL. Great job guy's.

Mike,
Unbelievable numbers. You shifted the torque curve up and also made the engine more efficient.

I do have a few questions

1) what is your bore and stroke?

2) if you have the weather data from this run can you post it?

3) last and most important. How much more HP would it have made? If you were no so cheap and had used the special spark plugs like the last time.

Stan

1. 4.380x4.600
2. I do not. Sorry but I don't really care As it was the day we had scheduled and after the last chitstorm about weather and corrections i felt it somewhat irrelevant. BES Has a very nice facility and the car had no trouble showing at least the numbers in the car from the dyno. Then some. It was a better day than when we dynoed last week. Rich said 800 ft better.
3. no worky with dome.

Mike,
Thanks. I understand about the weather. Over on Yellow Bullet we had the same discussion. After looking at a number of SFD files which has all of the data logged during a dyno pull the conclusion was that other factors are used a long with the weather by SF to do the correction.

Mike, you're the Man!
Yes I know it took a team to accomplish, but it takes a smart guy to surround himself with the right people!
