I have access to used slicks from circle track cars for free and was wondering how they would work on the strip. I've never used slicks before for fear of scattering my ST-10 but thought maybe these might be a happy medium between the drag slicks and my street tires.

MY opinion? Waste of time. They will probably not give you any better grip than street radials. Ask 1/2" how well they work?

Thats the first kind of slicks I used when I started drag racing. They won't hook as good as drag slicks but I think would work better than and average street radial. And the price sounds good so if the don't help your not out much. Just my two cents.

Used "NASCAR" slicks at the drag strip?

I think I hear banjo music.

It depends....Are they Dirt track roundy round or asphalt tires? Dirt track tires will work fine for 400HP or so. I know a few younger friends on budgets doing High 11's to low 12's on them now. If they are free and you want to try them, all you have to lose is time. Just my 2 cents.

They hook well in a 10 second 2800 lb car I know of. And they are the dirt style. Car is more of a street racer now since rules changed on rollbar dia. in rollcages. The guy says _ _ _ _ the nhra. His brother races dirt track and gives him the tires when he is done with them. Better than buying slicks.
