Just to clarify, the 70 GTO top plate is just a black plastic cover, not a steel tray like on the lemans. There are fiberglass and plastic repops.

I bought a plastic one from PY and the fit was great.
Trying to find an original one in good usable condition will be extremely tough.

Scott Nimons, was the filler you bought like your original? When I looked for one everybody was selling the same one, which had a textured pattern, and it didn't look like my original.

Does any one have a GTO that came from the factory without the filler panel? Mine and another very original 70 never had one. They are both non air cars and have close build dates 4/70

I believe the plastic repo's to be very close to original. I have heard the top is correct looking but the underside is incorrectly grained, but you would never see that once installed. Not only that but the plastic ones are cheaper than the incorrect fiberglass ones. This is just what I have read though.

SlowGTO,
What 428 said.
I think it looks good. It really polishes off the top of the radiator support, hiding all the bolts and closing the gap between the support and the nose.
I can get a pic if you'd like.
