What kind of Budget and Kiss minded approaches are there for dealing with wheelies on 72 GTO stock A arms, QA-1 double adjustable coil over units - 1850 lbs. front end? lower control arm bumpers, etc?

Adjustable travel limiters in the front. Adjustable mounts in the rear can help by moving instant center and anti squat.

I need to clarify - TO LIMIT OR CONTROL DAMAGE WHEN VEHICLE COMES DOWN FROM WHEEL STANDS - like poly frt. lower A arm bumpers, etc.

Can you not control it with the shocks? I tried a set of QA coil overs and never could get it to work right. Went back to a factory 6cyl spring and Viking DA shocks and fixed the issue. How quick does the car 60ft?

The carb was built by Mark Sullens and car runs better. I'm really concerned about when I get into harder launches with now going from a 3.73 launching with T400 brake at 3,000 about "12 - "14 on both tires 60's at 1.41 to a Pro Gear 4.11 at 4,500 (+).

What parts will help minimize damage caused by the front coming down - maybe hard?

Personal opinion, you'd be better off to work this problem in reverse. Tighten the front end up and limit travel to start, and only add as much travel/loosen front shocks enough to get traction right without the big wheel stand. I've put one on the back bumper, and once you're up there Pandora's box is open... I was lucky, only damaged drivers side strut. It can be much worse.

Thanks Guys - the wisdom surely is to "Ask the teenager to step away from the car and let the adult drive" - tighten up the front end and use the limiters and be safe!

The front will only come down hard if the car is not accelerating. Don’t lift…. If you do, make sure you have your foot back on the floor when the front end starts to come back down. This will minimize any potential damage. .

12"-14" of air under the tires seems like a lot for only a 1.41 60'.
I just get 4" of air with a 1.43 60'. And I can not carry it out. 4.10s launching at 3600 RPM.
People I know who wheel stand just shift to the next gear with their foot on the floor to bring it down.

Fair enough I looked at the pictures and talked with friends - still looks like 12 of air on the left and 10 on the right. I can only tell by still picture and no video. I have the ladder bars set at the lowest and the limiters on front inactive with frt. shocks set 90/10.

Get better front shocks and tighten rebound to control things. If not in budget just crank down limiter until it settles down a little.

Ladder bars set on the lowest hole on crossmember helps push the front end up. At least that is the way I see it.
My ladder bars are set on the highest hole pushing the front end down.
Might try bring it up and see what happens.
I cut off the bottom few holes on mine. No desire to set it that low and throw the front end up.

I put Viking double adjustable shocks on my car.

12-14” is just about right. I’m not sure why it would be hurting anything only being that high. Just get good adjustable shocks on the front. Use those to soften the landing. My car runs best when the wheels are at least 2’ up. It doesn’t hurt anything coming down. Now if it gets above 4’ that’s when things start to get ugly. If you go up a hole on the ladder bars most likely it will go higher but possible will stay up a little longer and carry them out and set them down easier. You don’t know unless you try it. Just don’t go up too much with the ladder bars. That will make it go up in a hurry.

X2 to Probird, higher you set them the harder it hits the tires. Depending on power level you'll just kill the tires from hitting them so hard.
