700lbs'ish on my .850 lift cam, 1050lbs on my bigger cam

I would run shaft rockers on everything, the stability of a shaft system can't be beat.

This is a long block on an engine stand.

The engine had dyno time only on it. I pulled it apart to install a nitrous cam, check the ring gap, and test the valve springs. I thought it was going to be real basic. But first I noticed the pushrods weren't hardened, and then when checking the pushrod length, I noticed all the intake valve stem tips are marked up.

So at this point, seems like a good idea to switch to shaft rockers instead of trying to get the valvetrain geometry straightened out with the stud rockers.

I didn't build the engine or have it built. I bought it with dyno time only on it.

I had to space my stand up also. No lash caps here.

My pushrod centerline width is 3.750 inches. My intake valve centerline width is 2.850 inches. 3.750 - 2.850 = .900.

.900 divided by 2 = .450

.450 + .050 = .500

So .500 is my rocker offset? Does that sound right?
Looks like the math is right. As long as your measurements are good I’d say that’s it.

Not worth much hp if any and not needed with lifts 750/800 stability of a shaft system is not really needed... It is the flavor of the day.

A member here broke 2 Crower stainless rockers and now is going to shafts. SS Crowers have to be tough to break.

Hah....its the Internet so a lot can be learned. FWIW I would never run anything but shaft rockers on a Wenzler head...and I'd prefer shaft rockers on anything that has an offset rocker.

FWIW.... Our Baddest Pump Gas stock pushrod location E-heads on the Planet uses Crower pedestal mount rocker arms and has never had an issue.

I'm at 900 over the nose, springs are at 2.100. I don't remember the "stock" length but I believe mine is 6".

Since going to shafts, my valvetrain has been solid and clearances don't move too much.

Yes that is correct. They have hurt a lot of feelings and cost folks a lot of money trying to chase them down.

They helped boost the economy!

Can you tell me of some that have performed or dyno'd better?

If you can't find any you can leave the planet and search the Universe.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings somehow. Yeah I'm planning on a trip to Brown's this weekend. If you hear of any good performing standard pushrod location pump gas E-heads please feel free to share. I'm well aware that not everyone posts up their performance on here but this story goes a lot deeper than this Website.
