Default 1971 GTO frame side motor mounts

Looking for a pair of the frame mounts for the motor that are correct for the1971 GTO with 455 HO engine. I see some offered like from Classic Industries that say the application is for the 1970-72 GTO and also GP and big cars like Bonneville. Is it true that the big cars used the same frame mounts? Seems unlikely as the prices for used mounts is way up there and wouldn't they be pretty common if they were in big cars also? So I need to figure out which ones are the correct ones abs where to get them at a fair price. Reproduction ones would be considered depending on quality and where they were made. No China stuff though. Thanks for the help!

Classic industries does not know Pontiacs.

The 455 steel frame mounts that actually bolt to the frame is '70-72 Pontiac 455 A-body only. B series is shaped differently & is taller on each side. Joe @ The Parts Place had the '70-72 factory 455 frame ounts reproduced about 10 years ago & many Internet vendors sell them. Very slight differences to originals.

The long style rubber insulators (motor mounts) that bolt with the long bolts to the factory 455 A-body frame mounts fit numerous Pontiac frame mounts, ie; '70-71 & 72-74 V8 Firebird, '71 to believe last year '74 Pontiac B series, as well as the also hard to find, 1973-1974 455 A-body frame mounts.

Thanks for the help. I never have actually seen these mounts so I couldn't really tell by pictures if they would be right or wrong, but now I have ordered a set from The Parts Place so we are making progress again. Thanks All!

So much for making progress. The Parts Place just refunded me my money. Say the mounts are no longer available. Frustrating as I had thought I had bought a pair of these from a member here over a year ago but when I went to install them last week I discovered they are mounts for a Firebird and don't fit my GTO. What a pain.

I bought the reproduction 455 frame and engine mounts from Ames.

N245C are the frame mounts

N227L N227R are the engine mounts.

Thank you for the heads up . I didn't think Ames had these or I would have started there to begin with. Just put the order in for these so hopefully they will come through. Thanks for al the help on this.

Forgot to mention....455 mounts require a longer through bolt than the 400 mounts.

Ames N239A for the pair.
