Default I.D. This Part Please

Trying to identify the following part, application and source for replacement, if possible.

Pretty sure this is a battery cable shield, or possibly a RA charge wire shield, just can't remember which or for what years.

Pretty sure these are repopped, but spent some time digging, and didn't find it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Seems to me I have that exact same bracket on my wife's 68 firebird. It holds the starter cable going to the starter at the back drivers side of the engine.

It sure looks like that to me also but I've never seen one that was curved.

That's probably it, knew it was pre-70, like 67-68 or something. I don't see one in any catalog, anyone know where I can get one or two?

I've only ever had A bodies and one second gen F body but they were all straight tubes.

Thank you HFR, much appreciated! Pulled the trigger on the eGay one, and shot an email to Frank's, which is closed Dec 2- 21, but will follow up later.

I would still like to grab another for another car, if anyone finds one or more.

I may reach out to the members you listed, but it's difficult since you can't attach an image.

It looks like it's from a 65-66 B body with manual transmission

It’s nearly identical to the one on my ‘64 Catalina.

Those are pretty hard to find.
Interesting that they came on big cars too- I thought it was only an early F-body thing.
A while back I tried to find one with no luck.
Not sure it would have fit with Headers anyway,
so I wound up modeling something custom- and 3D Printing it in Ultem.

I've seen the ones with a dent in them, that's def factory, and on purpose. That's the only thing I can think of, maybe column shift cars?

The F-body ones are longer, that I know.

I looked for something similar from other GM make/models of the same year-span, but it appears they are Pontiac specific.

I use them with large tube headers (Dougs) and remote solenoids mounted behind the booster, they work great. I leave a little slack, kind of loop it onto the bellhousing, makes it easier to drop the starter.

I had a box of them, would snag them every time I went to bone yards in the 80s, would use the big car pulley and bracket setups. But I can't find them since my move. Not sure I have any left, the mental image is from years ago.

The tabs get beat up from starter R&Rs.

I use one of these on my '67 Lemans, really protects the cable from header heat. this and a mini starter is *chef's kiss*

I think I got mine from a '67 Bonny wagon I parted. That was an interesting car, special ordered with 428, TH400, posi rear, early delco 4-piston brakes, power windows. Had extra saddle gas tanks. Had a 428 emblem on the cowl, under the hood. Sad the car was too gone to save. I salvaged the '67 400/400, the 428 threw a rod in the '70s. The 428 emblem is mounted to the top of my shop toolbox.
