Default 301 head gasket on 350P

Hey all

Just checking, a local guy messaged me thats putting new heads (small chamber #15) on his 350P that came out with about 7.5:1 compression

He said he had the heads on, but the valley pan gasket was too narrow.......

Hmmmmmmm

Turns out he had a 301 gasket set, or part of one anyway. He said he had to "modify" a few water holes in the 301 gaskets to line up........

Has anyone successfully run a 301 gasket on a std block.
He said bore size was alot closer than the generic Felpro 4.30 which was good at least

I know there can be issues when swapping std heads onto a 301, as missing ares in the block or something, but not sure on the other way round ???
I dont have 2 on hand to compare.....

Thanks in advance

Well the water passages are in the same location on the 301 and there shaped a little different, but it should still work.

Don’t use a 301,order a correct 350 head gasket.You will have issues with the 301.Tom
