Default 400 at the shop! any hp guesses ?

Finally dropped my 400 off to Tony Bischoff at BES racing in Indiana. He already did the heads awhile back, he figured 8 weeks to machine , assemble, and dyno it. Any guesses on what the dyno will say ?
-400 .030 over zero decked
-stock crank, eagle 4340 rods
-16 heads, flowed 230 cfm @ .500, 1.5 HS rockers
-icon forged pistons, lookin for 10.01 comp
-68 iron intake, port match
-68 qjet built by cliff
-sun tuned prepped distributor
-Bullet HR 226in 230 ex. .518/.518 lift, 112lobe sep
-2.5 in ram air manifolds
I'm really pumped ! This is the motor/car that made me a gear head and a pontiac guy, I've waited 20 years myself, engine last ran about 1978 !

That ^^^^ sounds about right,I'll say give or take 25 hp +/- (likely +) just because it's BES doing the work, and they might find a few extra hp here/there.

A bit more going into your build regarding the port work and cam, but this might be of interest:

In short....

.040-over 400
212 cfm stock iron heads
10:1 compression
218/224 at .050 hyd roller / 112 LS
Iron intake w/ Q-jet
Ram Air manifolds

396 hp at 5300 rpm
444 Tq at 4200 rpm

thanks for the input, I was hoping for 400-425. I know dynos can vary alot. BES said to figure on at least 400.

The manifolds will hurt some but the engine should make decent power. If it had headers I'd estimate it around 435 HP 477 TQ. With the manifolds it should be around the 400HP mark but the TQ will still be pretty strong. Average numbers should look good!

All this is dependent on BES being able to dial in the AFR with the Q-Jet. JD

similar to my motor, except I didn't have any head work done except a port match - running on headers it was only 386 hp peak, but a broad torque curve. Stock Qjet too

Dyno numbers can be deceiving. Each brand of dyno can be different. Each dyno can be setup different.
My engine builder friend would always use the rock bottom net numbers, nothing fluffed up.

One HP/cubic inch would be great w/ your well matched parts. I'd hope for the 400-425, same as you.
