Cam# BBC, HR75375-78360-112
241/251 @.050"
.375"/.360" Lobe Lift
112 LSA
Hi Mike,.
Thanks, the LSA seems high compared to DV math. But I am a novice so I appreciate the advice/spec.

So a question that I would really like to learn more about is the cam angle setting. Straight up? Advance? Retard? Was hoping to read the post on that. I searched but could not it elsewhere. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Paul
I would install it on a 108 Intake Centerline.

I widened the LSA to extend the top-end power, and increase vacuum. It will cost a little peak torque, but with a 4.25" stroke, torque won't be an issue.

Hmmm, spread the lobes out on a big street engine to make it idle/drive better and move the power band up. Cutting edge stuff there.
Jones specd’ a cam out for my 517 that was a virtual clone of the SD Road Paver on a 112 LsA.
I bought a RP from Dave B. just because he’s treated me fairly in the past and always delivered what he promised. Dave wanted me to run about 10 more degrees on a 114 LSA but at the time I wanted an easy driving car. I don’t think it would have made much of a difference since as it stands the engine is a little too much for the car as it’s set up now, which isn’t really a bad thing.

So you just got a cam recommendation yesterday? What is your idle rpm and vacuum with your 517/RP? I'm going to get a 3123/3116 CC for my 494 (246/252 at 0.050", 0.400" lobes) and wanted an idea of vacuum level.

I got it a few years back. At 750 RPM in drive it’s between 10-11.
