Can anyone tell me what a Formula wheel is worth? I've got a friend with a complete wheel in very good cond but I can't get him to part with it. He doesn't have a car for it or plan on getting one for it anytime soon. He's holding on to it "just in case". Can't blame him ,really. Just wondering what they're going for.

"Very nice used" to me means perfect flawless used. In that case $150-$1000 depending on which Formula wheel it is. Lesser condition wheels bring less.

There are at least 4 different rim thicknesses of the Formula steering wheel. The later thinner wheels came in a variety of colors & & spoke variations. The later thin rim wheels won't bring top dollar like "perfect" type-1 Formula wheels.

To add to OPH, the early thick diameter wheel is the rarest and most valuable by far. They get less expensive as you move thru the variations. To give you a cost comparison, the repro wheel(late version) sells for $200 (wheel only). For a Judge or that special TA or Formula car, you'll probably want to search and buck up for the correct thick style wheel. For all others, although the repro is the thin diameter, the spokes are black annodized just like the early version. Once installed, you really have to be observant to notice the difference. Yes, BLACK annodized. I can't tell you how many people ask me for a silver spoked wheel not realizing the black has worn off revealing the bare brushed aluminum underneath.
