Louis Tool
Bought one of these to elongate my pushrod holes. Problem is that the only way i figure it goes in the slot, it moves around quite a bit, so im not sure how accurate Im being. Does anyone have a picture of the proper placement for this thing? these are #62 heads if it matters.
thanks again.... Matt |

Whats a louis Tool?
I have Spotts elongation tool, bolts in the rocker stud hole, yes it does move around if you are using a hand drill, works better if you can use a prill press. and high speed.

The "original' louis tool is designed to work on small block chevies mostly, not really for pontiacs, the SBC pushrod slot holds it in place better than a pontiac pushrod slot would.
The spotts elongation tool is a louis "style" tool, but it is different so it works better on our pontiacs than the "original" style louis tool. |

I used a long rod that I got from home depot (mounts in drill) and a side cutting drill bit (which it then mounts into the rod) - of course my heads were aluminum and went faster than yours prob will...
