Normally, oil flows down the drivers side, towards the front. Then it crosses over at the front main to feed the passenger side. So #8 cylinder is the last set of lifters to get oil. This engine is a solid roller setup with decent spring pressures so I didn't want the lifters on the passenger bank running very long without oil pressure. This mod takes oil that is on it's way forward on the drivers bank, and crosses it over to the rear of the passenger bank, so #6 and 8 cylinders lifters get oil a little sooner, as well as the distributor gear.

It was relatively simple. I just drilled a hole, tapped it until the fitting was just at the oil galley, without protruding into it, and had a hose made to fit. It was steel braided Teflon hose. I opened up the hole in the fittings just a little because they looked a little small to start with. Tried to make them match the hole size in the hose.

Nothing too Earth-shattering. My 455HO back where it belongs after a freshening up.

Love the color of that paint. What is it? Actually looks a good bit more like the original Pontiac color than what we've been getting in the rattle cans. At least to me it does.
