Are you talking about the AP (advanced profile) 440B SS for the top ring? That's the ring of my choice..

Can you share your combination id like to know ..

Heads , Cam, lifters , Valves etc..
Sounds like you're building a very similar engine to the one that i'm in the middle of building of now ..

What body style car are you putting it in ?

Yes sir I’m using the 440B SS top ring I feel like it’s worth the cost for durability Imo.As far as heads I’m using the Eldebrock CNC chambered 87cc heads with a good valve job with no porting my thing is let the turbos make the power. The whole point in this build is if my wife can’t drive it to the store it’s a fail Ha!Im also running the Ls firing order with Hyd rollers and Ls7 lifters.I feel like the harmonics are better although I don’t expect any power increase.I’m also running a Holley Terminator X with dual knock sensors with GM flex fuel capability 210lb injectors. As far as turbos twin GT45’s is what I’m running it should be a easy 4 digit deal with boost in the 15-17 pound range. All this is going in a 76 Transam….

Sounds good . Those are big injectors . You will be able to make way more then you will ever need. I have the same turbos. You should be able to reach the 1500 hp area if you wanted to..

Gonna be a real fast TA...

When do you expect to be putting the engine together?

The injectors are a tad big but here is how I figure the size.
210lbx16=3360 N/A horsepower
3360x15%=2856Hp due to boost loss
2856x30%=1999Hp this is a safe demand for E-85
1999x80%=1600Hp for 80% injector duty
So the GT45’s tap out at 1600 max so they should work.I’m also running a boost reference fuel pressure regulator that not only ups the pressure it also lowers it under vacuum to help control the injectors down low.I would like to get her up and running early next year but I do all the work myself.MLRE is doing all the machine work helping this along so that part is going to be done soon.He is a Pontiac guy at heart but did a LS engine this year for the guy that took 2nd place in Drag Week unlimited class with a average of 6.58@207 so he knows how to make a engine live on the street and track.

I wasn't saying they are too big, just was an observation. Most guys go 160's . At least you have growing room. . I have 225's for my 4 cylinder. They work fine.

Tom I went with Snakeeaters and they are roughly 800 a set.I think they are Bosch’s tbh and they are flowed at 43psi so there is room to grow with more pressure..

Tom,
Bosh 0-280-158-821 is 210 injector. You might need to check with them as I see different fuel types listed.

Agree Stan, even in 1996-1996 when Marty ran the 16 160 lb/hr Bosch injectors we used the ones designed for Methanol.

I ran the Bosch 160 with that boost referenced pressure regulator -- worked fine all the way to 25-27lb of boost with two 88mm turbos

Nope , it was fine . Yeah texting can do that though. when you cant hear the persons intonation or pitch of voice it can be confusing .. I just was surprised that they were that big . Id do the same thing because i like having lots of growing room. lol..

The 225's idle fine . No issues to speak of..

Will you have egt sensors per cylinder? If not, I'd have those Snake Eaters independently tested. Those who get a good set love them, but those who don't, well... They don't. Sounds like some really nice parts you're putting underneath them.

Honestly we do both individual EGT and test flow any injectors no matter what brand. The Beauty of the Holley terminator X is Individual spark and fuel tuning per cylinder. So getting a handle on a tune makes things a bit better…
