Default 64-67 center consoles are ABS plastic, correct?

I'm repairing some cracks in the base of the console. I want to glue in some supports on the backside so I need to order some plastic sheet for those patches.
I' ve searched but can't come up with a definitive answer that they used ABS plastic for the bases.
Thanks
Frank

Use a thin piece of flat tin or the like and Gorilla glue and clamp it. You'll never have a problem.

Thanks Bob. Wasn't even thinking of that. A piece of flashing should work well.

SEM makes a "problem plastic" adhesive

It works Excellent. It dries fast, like 5 minutes. Kinda pricey, but then a new console $$$$$

I believe they are made of styrene plastic.

The bases that I have repaired in the past were all constructed out of SMC. Problem that arises is that originally to get the parts out of the tooling the compound was blended with an internal mold release. To its credit the mold release still exists in the parts and makes for a difficult time to get anything to stick to it. My preferred method is to rough up the back side, clean well with acetone, use some adhesion promoter. Then use a two part epoxy with a layer of kevlar. This has worked well for me for crack repair and reconstructing missing pieces.

You had me at roughen up the back, clean, prep and epoxy. Then you lost me at kevlar

There are 2 pieces missing so the plan is support the back, inlay the patch and then cover with vinyl.

Thanks everyone for the tips.
