Hard to argue with that.
On the RAIV engine, that back intake manifold bolt is just a bolt. I suppose I could change it out to one with threads on top and then use a nut to attach the plug wire holder. The intake bolts themselves are too big to fit into the plug wire holder hole. |

Thanks very much for the offer. With my new drivetrain, I won't be able to run one. Also, at least for the time being, I prefer manifold vacuum.

As far as I can tell that's what was done from the factory too. This was taken last September, on the engine that started this thread, before I pulled anything.

Would you happen to have a pic of the left hand rear wire loom and bolt? It looks like that loom bolts into the corresponding head bolt hole and I assume it uses a bolt similar to what holds the TCS switch on the right hand head?

if no one else chimes in, I can absolutely get you a picture, but it might be next week before I can get to it.

That’s great. Thank you! Can you tell if the bolt seems to have a shoulder on it?

from what I have seen (I believe that hardware varied with the plant, and date depending on availablity) they do not have shoulders.

I’m not so much of a purist that I won’t put in a few deviations from stock. Replacing the crappy cost-saving ‘71 plastic wire holders with the super deluxe ‘70 wire holders is one of them!

Sorry for the late reply, I've been out of town. No shoulders on my bolts. I can get more photos if you want.
