Red face For the Pontiac faithful.......

.....hopefully, every little bit helps.

Was not sure where to put this.

A 67/68 Firebird Ram Air bottom pan on an AMC 413 (401 + 0.060") Jeep YJ. Ignore the TJ grill, doors, etc..... Its a frankenstein Jeep.

*Top carb hat spacer required to get the pan to where I wanted it to sit.

Why not go all the way and put a Pontiac engine in too?

I've done 4 swaps from AMC/Jeep to Pontiac Stratostreak V8s. 65 Wagoneer from 230 OHC 6 to 389, 67 Wagneer 327 Packard/AMC to 389, 73 J4000 PU truck 360 AMC to 455, and a military M-715 5/4 Ton truck from 230 OHC 6 to a 455.

I've always toyed with the idea of doing a CJ/Wrangler Jeep swap, but never was in the position of owning one.

I'm a semi purist I guess.

AMC "belonged" more in the Jeep, once I determined the straight sixes (4.0 and 4.2) and the V8's shared the same bell housing pattern.

I hear you though. I toyed with the idea of the spare Pontiac 428, as well as a having another spare AMC 401 for another project.

Nice Jeep! They're certainly a fun truck to work on and play with. Nice looking setup!

I got a TJ myself.

Thank you. Yes, they are fun and living in an area w/o emissions and engine transplant controls, it was straightforward.

Its "beef" across the board. Very little weak links now. Just another play thing though. Bad weather, off road winter deal. I should have used the narrowed 35 spline D60 for the 69' Bird but switched gears.

You're just proving the point.

AMC = All Manufacturers Combined
