What year?

Backside brackets, etc would be 60% gloss. on the 68's the grills are argent silver (like the rally II wheels. black in-between & backside of the fins of the grill are closer to the sheen of bare plastic. 30% give or take. semi flat I would say. I have lots of pictures of my 68's finished & I matched an untouched original.

69's I am unsure on the grills, but the brackets would be the same as 68

68"s Also what's the difference in the buckets, between a hideaway and non hideaway? Ames catalog says headlight trim rings will not fit right side with hideaways. why? Thanks.

buckets & rings are the same between hide-aways & std, but left & right side are different on the rings, & the buckets get even screwier. Hi/Low & left/right specific as I recall.

Here are picks of my hideaway headlight assemblies after restored. Trim rings all appear to be the same. Buckets for R and L are different because of the spring location. Top tab of the buckets are stamped with K (outer) and J on (inner) on Right assembly; A (inner) and B (outer) on Left.

I used semi-flat, closer to 30% gloss when I painted these years ago. 60% gloss may be more correct. Hope this helps.

Mine looked kinda semi flat. I know they were dipped in paint like so many other parts in our cars. Under the grills, mine had some nicely preserved paint that was about 60%, so I restored them that way. But the 30% probably looks closer to what they all looked back in the day when they were just a few years old. No doubt thats a good look.
