7028276 on ram air Gto
I have a 7028276 carb I was going to use on my 68 RA I Gto. Apparently that is what they used for a service replacement carb for all 68 ram air cars. Is there much difference between the service replacement 276 and the correct 275?

I know the 7028276 is setup for an automatic car. So it has the extra port on the front of the carb. for the vacuum modulator on a 400 Turbo transmission. I too am looking for a 7028275 for my RA I 4-speed car, they seem to be unobtanium! Of all the 68 Ram Air carbs. you would think that the 275 would be the easiest to find. 650 of the 1054 total Ram Air cars had the 275 carb!

I don't have my hopes up for finding a 275 carb. A few years ago I had to look for a 7028277 carb. Even harder to find.
I was mostly wandering if the internals of the 276 service replacement carb was approximately the same as the 275? I'm not actively looking for an XS block either. I'm just glad I have the heads. |

I have a correct date coded XS block for my RA I. The XS blocks do come up for sale from time to time. There was a guy on ebay and this forum selling a 275 carb. He wanted almost as much for it as I paid for my XS block, and that just ain't happening. I would imaging most of the 68 RA carbs have similar specs. You could always ask Cliff Ruggles, I'm sure he would know the differences.

Let me know if you, or anyone needs a 7028276 RAI carb that is a professionally rebuilt, SR carb.
Thanks, Paul |
