I found a great deal on an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, but it's cracked. Is it possible to TIG or aluminum MIG the crack to fix it? Will this hold under high RPMs? I don't know the extent of the crack, I think it is fairly minor. Thanks for your help!

Repair to an aluminum manifold is based on how clean you can get the part prior to welding. The
Weld/repair should last for the life of the part as ALL Racing mainfolds are welded and all of the
PROTOTYPE manifolds I pay for at FORD have welded
construction and are used on engines for years.

Yes it can be welded. But as Tom pointed out the quality & apperance of the weld is dependant on how clean it is prior to welding. GTAW (TIG) is best.

Dan,you can use a MIG welder to weld up the crack.Use argon gas and turn the wire speed right up, clean around the crack with a grinder first. You can also use the grinder to dress the weld back flat to the surface. I used this procedure to raise the top of the runners on my Torquer to match my ported heads,no problems.
