Hooked up hurst shifter to just rebuilt borg/warner 4 speed. reverse is where it is supposed to be (pull left and push up) now for the question, WHY is first and second and third and fourth reversed. first is pull to you and back second push forward third is over and back fourth is push forward. JUST BACKWARDS. Trans was just rebuilt and works good how do you change or adjust the hurst four speed????? thanks guys

Hi,just a guess, but are the shifter arms(on the trans. side cover) pointing up for 1st,2nd and 3rd,4th?And down for rev.?Like they should be?If they are pointing down that would cause the shift pattern to be backwards.Don't ask how I know this. ....Oh o.k.,I rebuilt the B/W trans. in my T/A myself, got it back in,was all excited to try it out, pattern was backwards, kicked myself. All 3 shift levers are pointing down. so what you're saying I have to pull the levers and point 1 2 3 4 up leaving reverse down. does this create any problem with the linkage going in a slightly tilted up angle. and do the levers just pop off and on? I'll try it tomorrow. thanks
