Hi,just a guess, but are the shifter arms(on the trans. side cover) pointing up for 1st,2nd and 3rd,4th?And down for rev.?Like they should be?If they are pointing down that would cause the shift pattern to be backwards.Don't ask how I know this. ....Oh o.k.,I rebuilt the B/W trans. in my T/A myself, got it back in,was all excited to try it out, pattern was backwards, kicked myself. Too many cocktails not enough attention to detail!Al

It ain't no feakin' camaro!

All 3 shift levers are pointing down. so what you're saying I have to pull the levers and point 1 2 3 4 up leaving reverse down. does this create any problem with the linkage going in a slightly tilted up angle. and do the levers just pop off and on? I'll try it tomorrow. thanks
