I just picked up a 4bl for my Lemans and will finally get rid of that 2bl, but was wondering how thick of a gasket should I run between the carb and intake? The carb is an Edelbrock with a stock cast intake and the gasket that came with the carb is paper thin! Is this ok? I do not want to deal with possible vapor lock issues next summer if the carb is sitting too close to the intake.

My other life has meaning....

I like to run those isolator type gaskets. They are 1/4" thick or so. Probably more important on an iron intake, but I've never used anything different so I can't say for sure if the thin gasket will be a vapor lock problem or not.

Brakes?! We don't need no stinking brakes!

Bigger than a quarter inch? That's all I've ever ran as well.

Should I go with a spacer, or just a thick gasket?

Gonzo, any advantage to either setup? Does it matter?
