I have a 1975 400 rebuilt professionally, installed in a 1968 firebird, with about 3000 miles on it. It has a four speed muncy. The cam moves forward 3/8 to 1/2 in. when the clutch is depressed. What could have caused this to happen in such a short period of time?

Why do you view this as being bad?
You now have the ability to advance the cam with a touch of the clutch pedal. You could also use this mechanism as a high speed retard device. Way to go. |
