Thumbs up AACA NATS; PONTIAC EYE CANDY.

AACA held Their National show here in the Beach.
I stopped in to check out some these impeccable machines and though some of you would enjoy seeing a few.

Some impressive cars. Can you imagine the bill for chrome plating on that 1958 Bonneville?
I noticed an Opel Kadette in the background of the picture of the 1967 GP - there's a car you rarely see anywhere, let alone at an AACA event (I had a '67 Kadette wagon years ago that was as far from show car status as you can get.)

Yes, that car looks particularly amazing with those seldom seen wheel covers.

Thanks for sharing these HQ photos of HQ cars.

I have never seen the "fire extinguisher" tire chalks before. Not a bad idea, though!!!

Beautiful cars, thanks for sharing!

I am going to be in Alexandria for Memorial Day. Sad to think I missed this show by only two weeks.

I believe that's part of the AACA show rules - all cars are required to have a fire extinguisher, and they lay them out like that so the judges can easily see they have one.

Wow... somehow I envisioned AACA having "older" stuff. But I guess our Pontiacs from the '50-'70s do meet the definition of antique. A lot of nice cars there.

These owners go to great lengths to compete and to stay competitive,
while not everybody's thing it's sort of a badge of honor and they wear them proudly.

As far as I know all the National clubs have had this requirement for decades.
POCI, NCRS, GTOAA, AACA and so on, same goes for indoor showing. 1/4 tank of fuel max and in some cases tape over the filler cap.

Sadly with each passing show season we see less and less of the early old iron.
This is why I have always made and attempt to go to to these shows.

Lets face it even our mid 60's cars are now the older cars.
My '66 has been placed in antique classes for over a decade.

Thanks for the pics Jeff, looks like a great turnout though I heard it was a bit on the warm side. No idea that many Pontiacs turn up for a meet. AACA is a great organization to belong to. Grill badges are well deserved. As far as the Fire ext. putting them at the front of the car makes them readlily available too in case they are needed!
