It was spectacular,
i saw roger waters the wall too, was a great show but nothing like the real pink floyd shows. david gilmore joined them for the last show on the original leg of that tour. & i read the remaining original members of PF just released a new song, havent heard it yet, supposed to be a benefit for ukraine or something.

aside from sid barret leaving in the very early days, which most people arent familiar with that stuff & was before they got really famous, pink floyd just broke up & didnt try to replace the keyboardist that recently died, the 2 main members waters & gilmore just went solo.

George Washington's axe.. Over the years the handle and the head were replaced, is it really still GW's axe?

The beach boys can be a little dicey as far as "which " touring band your going to see. Mike Love, (who everyone seems to hate}, has a touring band called the Beach boys. He is the only original member of that band. Yes he can be pretty prickly and annoying at times during the intros. The touring band is changing members on a regular basis but they generally sound pretty good. They stick to the hits. If you like the Endless Summer album, that's pretty much what you will hear at a Mike Love concert. Have seen them numerous times, good show. Now a Brian Wilson concert, that's a whole different animal. He is still a super perfectionist. The touring band are all accomplished musicians, 9 to 12 pieces with back-up singers. Perfect sound, and much deeper cuts from the Pet Sounds era. One of the best concerts I have been to in the last 7-8 years. Really glad I had a chance to see Brian live. Probably won't tour much longer.

Many vintage bands with "missing members" are touring to support those missing members, and or their SPOUSES.
Glenn Frey is just ONE example
David Paich is Not healthy enough to Tour with Toto, but has been at a few local to him shows, and performed.
There are MANY more.... Instead of "locking" your interest to your emotional Youth, and thinking thats always "best",
Get out and listen and enjoy yourself.. +

That definitely does not describe me! I get out, listen and enjoy.

I don’t assume that the reborn CCR is not as good if not better than the original band. Or most other bands that have evolved over the years.
I’ve seen Black Sabbath with Dio and Ozzy. Both were great but I prefer Ozzy.
I’ll probably go see a local AC/DC band on Easter. I have never seen AC/DC but that’s OK.
There are so many excellent local bands that I don’t need to spend stupid money to sit nowhere near the stage and see bands from my youth. Hendrix played the old Boston Garden in 1969 and I think the tickets were $9.50, $10.50, and $12.50. My brother went, I was too young.

I have the axe George Washington used to cut down that cherry tree. The handle was replaced twice and the head once.

Original Santana Band was the The Best but when Gregg Rolie their main vocalist and Keyboard player etc. left never was as good but I still enjoy their Rock Blues style to this day

agreed.

I was never able to see them live;
And they continue to be my elusive act - the last time was when I arrived at Ameoba in Hollywood;

I took that picture on August 30th (I had no idea they were going to be there);
I believe they have played in my city twice (post-Layne's passing), and I have always been out of town.

I am ever grateful that I saw Soundgarden on their second (and final) time in my city - supporting the 20th anniversary of Badmotorfinger.
(The first time they stopped in my city, I wasn't living here - I moved after graduating from high school, and came back a couple years later.)

... end tangent.

They're one of few bands I regret not being able to see live. My biggest is Pantera. Those guys could shred like no other.

Deep Purple is another one. Nothing more than a tribute band now. Without Blackmore and Lord it just isn't Deep Purple.
