Rivets to install window felts?
Replacing window felts on the 68, where the OEM strips were installed on the door panel with staples. The new kit comes with a bunch of screws to install, which I am sure would work ok.
Has anyone installed these on the door panel with 1/8" rivers instead? I thought it might look a little cleaner and an easier install with the rivet gun. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

I would caution you about using rivets. Pop rivets may not pull down into the felts far enough and the little piece of the pull pin will likely scratch the glass pretty good.

Based on these felts, I think my biggest concern would be the rivets pulling the felt strip too tight and kinking it. Butt end of rivet would be against steel portion of door panel, so the rivet is no closer to glass than a screw head would be. I will attach a pic.

I used 1/8 aluminum rivets to attach the felts to the door panels on my 68. Worked great. Paint the heads black after install, can’t really see them.
