Pedal assembly thoughts
My car has what appears to be the oem pedals- with the gas pedal being a rubber part that lays on top of a pedal rod with a roller wheel that rolls up and down the back of the rubber pedal when it is depressed. It sucks. Rubber pedal falls off the rod often No feeling of control. Anyone have any recommendations for stick shift pedal assemblies for a 64 a body?

There are a few wear points that may be contributing to your problem. The pedal is a friction mount to 2 pins screwed to the floor. Ck for rusty or worn pins or the pedal mounting point is worn causing a loose fit. Also, the rod assembly has bushings at the firewall bracket that may be worn. Ames has everything except the bushings.

A cheap hack for the roller wheel if it is "squared off" at all is a standard skateboard wheel bearing, mine was and it caused what I would describe as a dead spot in acceleration so to speak as the pedal was pushed down and the wheel rolled along the pedal it would hit the flat spot on the wheel for a split second before continuing on. Simple to do grind the rivet head off remove plastic wheel install bearing( is used loctite bearing retaining compound to hold in place no issues since) as mentioned before the rest can be purchased.

Great suggestion, TB1 - thanks! I had that issue on a '67 A-body I own... luckily I was able to find another pedal assembly from a '67 in the junkyard, but when the roller behind that one grinds itself flat I'll be doing the bearing conversion.
