TKX bell housing dowels
Kind of taking a survey of guys who put in a tkx with the stock bellhousing.........i know you have to measure to be sure, was thinking of getting the .007 and .014.....thinking i should be in that zone................was hoping you guys who done this could post what you had to buy.
Or just buy all 3 sets from RobbMc and go from there...............66 Gto Thanks Rich |

Not a TKX user, but it's not really a TKX question so much as standard bellhousing alignment. If the stock dowels are still there, set it up and measure it. You'll know for sure then.

Did you indicate it in then? If so, you should be good already.

Scott, i think im confusing you guys, i have the motor at the shop being rebuilt, i have the tkx at my house along with my bellhousing............im assuming i need different dowel pins........the way everything has been going with this car, its probably off.
Im just gonna order the 3 sets .007/.014/.021 that RobbMc sells , that way im covered. Rich |

I was indeed confused. Thought you were doing a transmission swap. Your plan should indeed cover all the bases. Good luck with it.

The two stock aluminum bellhousings we did were near perfect and within spec just bolting things up. My old Lakewood scattershield alignment was terrible.

I just set one up last week with the factory bell. It wasn't horrible but needed the .007" dowels to correct it.
I have another one here I use the factory bell on and it also needed correction. |

When I did mine for the TKX and the factory bell it was all good with the .007" from RobbMc

I also needed offset dowels with the factory bellhousing...measure a few times and make sure you have repeatability before final installation.
