I like the color, it would look better with the white top though.

Here is one such car with a special order Caddy paint. I worked on it quite a bit a few years ago.

I haven't seen it Gary. Yes, D-port w/auto only 455 - Y for engine code in VIN.

It has not sold yet, when I spoke with the guy earlier in the week, I said I may try to get up there this weekend - he called me this morning to find out if I was coming. It's a nice rare easy to drive & enjoy car, nothing to be ashamed about even with the color - for those of you like Wankers who may be insecure.

Did it have the heavy Firemist metal flake? The amount of metal flake in that paint is not something the other factories could shoot from all my sources over the years.

I think that the car I linked had a rough past before I worked on it.
That car had what appeared to be NOS quarters and fenders. The suspension components and frame looked to have been blasted and had signs of heavy rust pitting. The body was repainted with modern products, so I can't tell you what the original finish looked like. By today's standards, the paint was not a heavy metallic. In 1976 I had my GTO repainted with a Firemist color (St. Moritz Blue, 1972?) so I am familiar with what the the Firemist colors looked like at the time.
I have found references online that indicate the Buick color was a Caddy Firemist.

I'd have to borrow a silk scarf and hairpiece from one of you guys so I could feel more secure driving that car.

Seriously, it sounds like it isn't getting any action if he's calling you. Be interesting to see how solid and original and intact this car really is.

My guess is it's as good as whatever dealership or shop the GF's Mom took it to all these years. If they did quality work and used quality parts it will show - if they were hacks - well then....

I need to unload 2 cars before I even consider going up to take a look at it - I'm out of inside storage at the moment.

That is what I would do. There are a lot of colors that would go well with a white top and interior.

Has anyone seen this car in person?
Would be interested in it if it's really nice and solid.

Unfortunately I can't drive over there and look it over....
