Default Wire ID?

Restoring a '68 Firebird, came across this wire, have never seen one like it before, anyone ID it? The terminal looks like a coil wire?

The spade lug end looks factory, but not whatever the big bulb thing is under the non-factory shrink tubing!

Agreed. But this car is pretty much unmolested. The original factory wiring harness is intact, all the original terminal ends are still there, including the ground ones for the lights...very rare to see one an original one not butchered up.

It does look like the wire terminals found at the coil wiring.

Went ahead and pulled this thing apart, it is a fusiable link, has a 4 amp fuse. Sealed really good, made a nice "pop" pulling it apart, pretty good for being 40+ years old. Any ideas now?

The tach wire is fused and the conector does look like it's for the coil.

Could it be for an underhood lamp? The spade end would connect to a terminal on the voltage regulator or horn relay.

Thanks. It looked familiar - my bird is missing its underhood lamp and has the same wire remnant running along the left inner fender.
