Exessive Crankshaftplay cause for transmission failure
....is it possibble that to much crank play pushes on the torque converter and further on the inputshaft and make damage inside the autonatic trans mission. I only know it the other way or this only direction...when the converter pushes on the crank and causing thrust bearing failure....

It's the other way around, trans failure or convertor issues cause the thrust to wear.

Normally when the converter ballons up it wil mess up the thrust bearing and will also damaged the internals of the oil pump housing when it doesn't have the .125 required flexplate to converter clearance. But I doubt that it will push the input shaft inward.

For every Thrust Bearing failure, please Check the Front pump gear for galling, to confirm such thoughts.
If so, then converter was balloning beyong the allowed clearance. |
