Matador Red Judge Resto Pictures
Looks kinda slooooow in this section so I thought I would throw a slide show up for you guys. I guess they all look the same at this point, but you guys never tire of it right?
When I stopped buying cars, a friend emailed me about this one. Because it was Matador Red, original motor, and a lot of work seemed to be done on it, I couldn't resist. It is a 4spd, low option car. Non-hideaway, drum brake, 3.55 "N" posi rear, with a black interior. Well the first unexpected expense was when I found the already rebuilt engine was full of media blasting material. So the motor went off to Paul Spotts. I got the frame, and rear housing, powdercoated, which I am very happy with. Those pictures are at my house, and the body pictures are at my body man's home shop. He got the floors done, which look great, but now he is stalled out on the shell. Everything done by prior owners needs to be redone. I am adding disc brakes from Inline, a tilt wheel, and hood tach. The hood was already cut for the tach. I'm sure I didnt do everything "correct" but I would just be happy to finish some day, and fine tune down the road. -Doug click below and select "view as slideshow." http://s1184.photobucket.com/albums/...1/The%20Judge/ |

Thanks guys.
Hi Brent. Yes the '70 convertible is in storage until I get this frame out of the garage. Sold my Expresso Brown '69 I had for a long time. The buyer did a very nice restoration to a Judge clone, but kept the correct colors at least. Spoke with the '68 HO owner and he has a target date this summer to finish. He took it off the frame but is just shooting for driver quality. Will you be at the PY open house? Doug |

slowgto:
I am having my 69 GTO painted this year also, plus some body work. The color now is a Candy Apple Red,painted in 1980. I am going to change to Matador Red this year. What paint brand could you recomend for that color,I want it to be a nice deep dark red like I have seen some GTO's when painted Matador Red. Also Paul Spotts built my 462,nice job, good man )

Very nice work! By any chance do you know if the cutout in the floor for the 4-speed is the factory cutout?

Nice work on the Matador Judge.
Floor cutout looks correct except the tab is missing on your car. What plant was yours made at? here is an Arlington factory cutout. |

John,
Are you referring to the tab of sheet metal on your car that remains on the pass side rear of the cutout? Wonder why that tab remains? Why would they have done that? |

This one is an original 4spd so I think the floor cut-out is original. It is a Baltimore car.
The paint will be PPG but we have not tried it out yet. |
