Default Iskenderian Cam - older grind

Hi,
I posted this over on CP yesterday too but figured I'd ask here as well...

I have an older isky cam I bought about 20 years ago that I'm trying to get the specs for. I checked Iskenderians site and there's no listings with these numbers... These are the markings on the back of it:

W75E
2P 08
300 HL HYD
901
ISKENDERIAN

I was told by the guy I bought it from that it was .485 lift and 300 duration. Does anyone know what the specs actually are for this? I only had it in my engine for a short while and there's no visible wear, so I will probably try to sell it... but I'd like to be able to give an interested party the specifics... I also have the correct anti pump up lifters in the correct order in the original box. Thanks for any help...

Dave

To get things started, I have copied the Isky entries from the Pontiac Cams listing that has floated around on the Internet, I downloaded it into Excel so I could sort. From largest to smallest, Part#, adv dur, dur@.05, lift@1.5 and 1.65 and centerline. They all start with 901 (which is on your cam) and the duration.

Iskandarian 901304 304/304 256/256 .525/.525 .578/.578 - 108
Iskandarian 901292 292/292 244/244 .505/.505 .556/.556 - 108
Iskandarian 901281 280/280 232/232 .485/.485 .534/.534 - 108

Thanks Kybird... that's a great start... there seems to be some consistencies there huh? Seems all of the centerlines are 108.... and assuming that the 901 and the other 3 numbers go together... mine most likely is 901300... If that is true, it would seem that the only wildcard for my cam is probably the lift figure...make sense? I'm still thinking that the lift was .485 because I don't believe I just dreamed that up... but I don't know how I would be able to veriify that... I don't have any dial indicators or micrometers or anything like that... I sent an email to Isky's tech support twice... a couple months ago and 2 days ago... and never got a response, so I guess help from them is not in the cards.

This one that Kybird posted has a lift of 485 @ 1.5 and 534 @ 1.65.

Iskandarian 901281 280/280 232/232 .485/.485 .534/.534 - 108

SD73,
Yah, I did see that too... I assume it's because that is one of their current production cams? As I mentioned, mine is at least 20 years old...think I got it around 83-84. Wish there was a way of finding an old catalog somewhere... that would put this to rest.

I have an older Isky catolog. According to it the 901300 HL Hyd. is 234 @ 0.050 .485 lift with 108 CL. Most all isky cams are 108. If you check the 901300 number on line at Isky.com it shows a solid lifter cam which goes against the hyd stamping on the cam. My Isky catolg is a 1984 by the way. Hope this helps.

Hey Dave
I know this an old thread. I don’t know if you are still looking for info on this cam. I had one in my GTO back in 82 and it IS a hydraulic cam. The lift IS .485 and the duration is 300. The anti-pump up lifters are the best hydraulic lifters Isky had (very desirable)to help smooth the cam a little a low rpm. You mentioned you were interested in selling the set-up. If you still have it are you still interested?

Have several older cams. One of the nicest is marked legibly with only 4 letters 1270. Thinking it may be an Isky 901270. Have had for many years. Thinking might be nice in a 66 389 with 092's in my Star Chief as a torqy street cruiser. Will mic it to see if lobe lift is close to .297 to make it's .445 valve lift rating . Would like to have a more meaty ID. Ron's Pontiac page has a page showing Pontiac Isky cams. Includes 2 turbo cams at the end, kind of interesting.
