Default What heater hose nipple?

I need to get a new hose nipple for my 6X heads. The catalogs show 2 styles. One is for up to '72 heads and had the spring. The other is for up to '77 or so with rubber inside. They are interchangeable, is there any advantage of one over the other?
TIA

Ron

I don't know, but am curious of the reason for the spring and/or rubber.

I had a 77 GP and it had decent heat only a block from the house on the coldest of days.

If you actually live in a area where you drive the car during a season where you need heat then the nipple with the spring helpsthe motor build heat faster.
