Not usually a fan of green but I'd say Green with a thin gold pin stripe. Or incorporate gold in any graphics you may plan to use. JMHO

Man, I'd be proud to drive that car just like it is... Someone already suggested this but I believe Verdoro would look great with that interior.

Agree that’s a fine looker as it sits now

Even if the body and paint aren’t perfect it’s just as much fun, without worrying about that first chip in the paint.

Thanks all - I closed the deal on the car today - here is pretty good description of it:

not sure if this was mentioned, but the 79 nocture blue, or other darker blues or with a light metallic look great with tan interiors. im not a big fan of tan interiors but this t/a looks very nice.

THIS^^^^. I wouldn't touch a thing. Car is perfect as-is, and drivable. I like it a lot.

agreed. it was a one year only color on 2nd gen firebirds & wasnt that popular. but with the gold wheels & gold decals, i think it looks better than most other combos on these cars with a tan interior.

for a 60's gto like that id probably stick with a more period correct or factory available color. all depends on what color you prefer.

Nice Car! Those pics will work, I'll probably do the pic with the door open. I'll get to it tomorrow.

What color is your top choice? I see blue mentioned here. Red and any color with red in it, blue for instance, is really expensive right now. All paint and supply prices have exploded. It cost $800 in materials to strip, prep, and paint the door and deck lid on the Model A.

Bought four 67 GTO project cars & one '65 gto parts car off a local in '91.
One '67 was Montego Cream Sports Coupe with a painted gold top. Decent dull original lacquer paint, original gold buckets in fairly nice shape. Even with the front clip disassembled on that GTO, the two tone signet gold over Montego cream looked REALLY sharp!

Have done work on three '65 GTO's with gold factory interiors, one was Capri gold, & the other two, including a convert was Mayfair Maize. Wasn't a fan of the color mixes of any of the three. Nocturnal Blue is a killer color on a '64 GTO or Catalina, but not sure that I'd combine a gold interior with that killer deep blue color.

Greens... Am Totally OUT when combined with gold interiors in a '64-67 A-body, just doesn't scream that era of THE Original Musclecar.

IMO, '73 BG T/A 's & Formula's look KILLER originally equipped as deluxe saddle interior cars (own a '73 BG/saddle 4spd project). Similar very appealing deal with Wilderness green/deluxe saddle interiors on '72 Formula. As '72 455HO M22 or 400 M22 Formulas, make sure it's done right! No corner cutting BugSmacker builds out of such highly desirable Pontiacs.

Here 'ya go, a couple quick low resolution renderings from your photo. These may not render correctly on all screens, based on your settings. I often use Corvette colors on the cars we do because of the hues and metallics without having to go to a 3 stage paint. Many Corvette colors are close to the old 60's colors.

The blue is based on C5 Corvette Navy Blue, although the 1964 Nocturn Blue would also work well. I like newer colors because the metallics are more pronounced.

The dark red is based on C7 Corvette Longbeach Red. This color really explodes nicely in the sun. In the shade it appears as a stock maroon.

In 1967, gold was offered with EVERY exterior color, along with black and Parchment. They were really pushing gold for some reason. That said, your '64 looks perfect as-is with the gold paint and gold '65 seats.

So you can see the actual color, a couple pics of Longbeach Red in the sun and in the garage. I finished this car last year. Shot the color over a black base. The highlights of this color are amazing.

I have a 65 GTO Capri Gold with gold interior. Its in the process of being repainted the original color now. I think it looks great and would never consider changing it as it looks right and gets many compliments at shows, even when it was chipped, faded, and had blister marks from a fire. One aspect not brought up is if you change the color the car will no longer be “numbers matching” and paint is one of the most expensive things to put back. The comment to consult a woman on the color was a good one, especially if she is trained as an architect or designer. Paints cannot be exactly matched as they were from the factory in lacquer so it takes a good eye to match the samples that the painter shows you.

Dark emerald pearl mica metallic (Toyota) with an extra pinch of pearl and black. Interior is original color but exterior was painted in 1995 and I’m still not tired of the this color combo.
