Default 1968 GTO lower "rally pinstripe"

I was thinking of putting on the painted lower rally pinstripe that was a option on my 68 .
I have been trying to find some good pictures of a 68 with this stripe but haven't had any luck. Anyone have this on there car and could get me some good pics?
Or maybe a diagram with width/dimensions etc.
Thanks for any info or pics, Brent

You don't see them too often. I was looking at putting them on my car a while back. See if this thread helps: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=749954

The attachment from Verdoro 68 has the right diagram from the assembly manual. I would start with a tape stripe in case you don't like the look. I've tried it on several 68-69's over the years and never found it complimentary. It seems to make the car look bigger and higher. If you like it in tape you can then get it painted, if not just peel it off. They sell the correct looking dual stripe tape at any autoparts type store for a few bucks in many colors.

thanks verdoro 68 for the link. Exactly what I was looking for. Not sure why that thread didn't come up in my search I did? I was figuring on just using tape stripes before I painted them on to see what it looked like. Now after looking at the pictures in that thread I don't think I will even put them on.
Like others have said it makes it look to busy with the stripe going on the rear of quarters and continuing onto the front of fender at valance area. Also it just doesn't flow with the body lines on the car and looks like it runs uphill when following the bodyline toward the front of the quarter panels. Seems to look out of place with the rocker panel chrome IMO?

Thanks again for the replys

I know what you mean. I have considered painting the hood on my 68 in the Royal Bobcat scheme. I even taped the hood off with fineline tape and then covered rest of hood with paper,[a lot of work] but couldn't make myself pull the trigger on the gun. If it didn't turn out well I have a quart of paint that I put away just in case it ever needed a touch-up for some reason. That paint would be a perfect match if I can remember the pressure I used. I could just sand off what I did and repaint entire hood again if I didn't like it. O well, hadn't thought about doing that for a long time, now I'm thinking again.
