Default Put the cars away for winter hibernation today

Took the GTO,s out for one last spin today before putting them away for the winter. Added some fuel stabilizer to keep the fuel fresh then tucked them away til early spring.

I dont know how yall put up with that miserable weather. I guess thats why they are building townhouses here as fast as they can put them up. No down season here.

Maybe we don't care for extremely hot and muggy weather:

Average Weather in Westminster South Carolina, United States

In Westminster, the summers are hot and muggy, the winters are cold, and it is wet and partly cloudy year round.
I can always put another layer of clothes on when it gets a little chilly.

The arrest you when you take too many clothes off when it's miserably hot and humid in summer's prime time.

Do you also have a problem with retired "southerners" moving up there and influencing home values and politics?

While it is hit and humid here in Houston, one benefit is that there is no off season. The negative is that if your car doesn’t have good ac you are soaking wet when you take it for a quick drive

I am in the mountains in the upstate so we only have a couple of truly miserable days a year. Now if I want to be truly miserable I can go to Myrtle Beach in August and see all the tourists from up north. It’s hilarious because you can always tell a yankee by the way they look on the strip. They look like they are at hells gate

Because of the lakes we have a lot of that here. My mother lived in the same house maintained of course but essentially looking the same way as it did in the 40s. Yankees moved down here and got on the city council and had my mothers neighborhood designated a historic district. Within weeks she had people coming telling her that she had to move her directv satellite out of sight and that the wood siding had to be touched up etc. My mother grew up in that neighborhood and she went to one of their meetings and told them that she grew up two blocks away from the house, that it looked like it always had minus directv antennae since she first started walking by it in first grade which was 1954 and that these northerners had no idea what they were talking about. They wouldn’t leave her alone pestering her about everything from the visible heat pump to the siding glass door which had been put on the side of the house in the 70’s. She finally sold it and moved out into the county which has no zoning whatsoever and is happy. As a side note the couple that bought the house supposedly started getting harassed by the city too so the house suddenly burned down while they were working on it and they got a deference and built a McMansion on the property.
