A friend at work found it in a relatives garage and was just curious what it might have came off of?
Year / model would be great if anyone can identify

I can't find a picture of that ornament on a 57 Chevy car or truck.

those are actually the SUPER rare 56 Belair fender top ornaments 1 year option fairly sure ...

hood ornament are cool .....

they all tell a story ... from the Chevrolet Flying Lady on my 40 Chevy coupe
(its my first car and still have it .. thanks to Dad for storing it for 25 years )
to jet airplanes 15 years later on Belairs ......... to nothin by 1960......

57 had peaks and a body line on top and fairly sure wasnt avail as a 57 style option..

That's why I couldn't find a picture of them on a 57! I looked at 56 but missed them.Nice ID Y'all.

that might be my dads old car ... same colors and v-8 too ... and WASHINGTON plates
I remember he sold it to one of his local buddys .. He had a 57 Chev Elmorroco Belair 4 door hardtop at the time too... 1 of 35 ish built ?
great find on the picture ... sending this link to my sister .... she loved that 56 .....

"Fender Birds". Don't believe they were a factory option, as they're listed as a GM accessory. Reproductions are available.

Thanks guys for all the info. I was at Carlisle today and saw reproductions for sale . 56 Chevy dealer installed accessory . They call them Fender Birds as someone else posted earlier.
