From the listing you see this collector is selling most of them: "This is from the private collection of Dave Hall, owner of "Restore a Muscle Car" in Lincoln, NE" |

Nice score! Really like to see pictures of original cars, nice or even rough! Hell of a stable you've got there. Congrats on the new purchase.

Dave Hall just confirmed it is the same car Tom Lembeck had. It's a nice one, Tom let me sit in it at MCACN 2016.

I wanted to chime in here- Warren Buffet said “You can't value bitcoin because it's not a value-producing asset." Likewise, cars are not value producing assets, so in the end the value is only as reliable as the most recent sale. I love my old cars, but if anything I would expect them to depreciate in real terms over the years. I went to MACN in 2016 and everyone there was old. I'm not sure younger generations will place the same value on old muscle cars. They might, so who knows maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I doubt it.

Well let me interject an observation. When I was ten years old I can honestly say that I never gave a thumbs up to a guy driving a Model T. I’m sure that I will get plenty of support on this observation, I can hardly drive my car for a few miles without getting positive feedback from young enthusiasts.

I live in a nice suburban allotment. Attached garage, 5 car detached. Been there 15 years. Always have garages filled with cool muscle. Brother lives across street, same scenario. Plenty of kids around. Here's how many kids have inquired about the cool cars. Zero. Cars are not a priority to most kids.

Back to topic.....sort of...
My first Trans am was a NEW 78.......and I really had no concept of what it was...... No I hadn't seen the movie.....but loved the visuals of the black car...with the big chicken.....along with the 400 inch stove and a real 4 speed... Within 6 months....I had discovered it's heritage.....(70-73's)........and since then I have lusted after....and owned many of them..... For the past 30 years or so.....I've always believed that anybody who owns a 77-81 T/A......WILL lust after an earlier one....and buy one......it's just a matter of time . One they see what the original concept was........how could they not?..........and because the early car production #'s are so low.......the prices will continue to rise....JMO. Just be thankful that Dynacorn chose to do a 79-81 body tub...and NOT a 70-73...... |
