selling ads
I think a lot of those web sales sites leave the old photos on - because they don't have enough content to keep people coming back - and they want to see ads.
I know hemmings and autotraderclassics.com do the same thing.

Tropical Lime is a nice color, you sure you want to change it?

I must admit Soitenly, I thought the same thing after reading your post.
It is always easier though, when it's not your car! At least CC is a 71 colour. Have you seen a fresh Tropical Lime resto in the flesh? Can't go wrong with the "Green and Gold" I have a car that is no longer the original Baja Gold, and I to and fro on going back to Baja Gold. Getmygoat, I don't actually mind the old ads I guess, as long as they clearly say sold, and the date sold, on them. |

I haven't seen a fresh resto but.. the underside of the trunk lid is like brand new..and i keep looking at it and trying to convince myself to put it back to the original color. I have seen a 72 LeMans with a color that is close to the T Lime color and i just can't do it..I have already changed the interior color to black..it was originally green..

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one to do that...I did that on my dad's brand new 301 cu in Buick LeSabre back in '77...Had the large Dual-Jet 2 barrel and sounded cool (well, to a 14 yr old anyway, until I heard a real Q-Jet)...

Wow! That would be a beautiful car restored. Love those reflective blue stripes on Cameo White.

I'll never forget it - it was a Saturday and we were sitting at the kitchen table having lunch. My sister got up to leave for a piano lesson or some boring girl-thing. The enormity of my miscalculation hit me about two seconds before she turned the key (I had the glass-pack installed that morning and had managed to get the car home and parked in the driveway while Dad was mowing grass - so he had not yet heard it). The minute she cranked the car everyone stopped mid-chew and sort of looked toward the direction of the sound. The car shut off and then started again. I'm choking on my peanut butter and jelly sandwich now, wishing I was anywhere besides that kitchen table. I could feel my Dad's anger shifting into high gear as I heard the car turn off again and then heard the door open and my sister saying: "Daddy, there's something wrong with the LeMans!" Before bedtime that night there was a brand new Midas muffler on the LeMans and I was still thinking of ways to get back at my sister! BJ

Yes it is. I actually was driving 11 hours to eastern PA from Indiana to look at a 70 Lemans and most likely buy it. I had been talking to the owner since January when he posted it on Ebay. Since he was 10 minutes off the I 80 I asked if I could check it out. Well I drove the extra 3 hours to look at a piece of junk and ended up buying the '72 and I'm glad I did.

Sounds like it all worked out pretty well! One owner/43K miles is sweet. What are your plans for the car? Driver or frame off restoration?

Right now enjoy it as a survivor. It runs pretty well is a nice driving car. Since it is missing the orig engine I will be adding factory options to the car like the formula wheel, maybe some honeycombs, GTO dash insert with factory guages....

A little late, mines a fake but it does get more attention than some of the more popular models while out on Woodward...
I had it sold a while ago, but the guy wanted to cut it up....I couldn't let that happen. |

Fake, never use that word. It is a tribute to Pontiac performance and days gone by. Its a good loking car, I would not let anybody use it for a parts car.
