J.C.you - I was looking at your PHS and noticed the dealer your Judge was delivered to and thought I remembered it. I went thru my 69 Judge Registry I am working on and remember a Crystal Turquoise Judge that was sold from that exact same dealer with a ship date about 1.5 months after yours. Sorry for this being off the subject but thought it was neat

BVZ's post #157 says ALL pattern judges had hood tachs. My 01D auto #00054 car has a hood tach right now but it does not show on the PHS. I was going to replace the hood and remove the tach for originality. Should I keep the tach? I figured someone added it later in the car's life. Thanks, Paul

GMCP, glad you brought that to attention.
Went back through invoices and found 2 Auto Patterns WITHOUT Hood Tachs. Just Clock/Gauges in-dash. Both of these were Air Cond cars. The Autos i have invoices for W/O Air Cond, all do have Hood Tachs. All the stick cars i have invoices for, all have Hood Tachs. Thats what can happen when i don't refresh the noodle with all data before posting. Never even noticed those Hood Tach glitches before either. Thanks Does yours have A/C ? Could you post the PHS Invoice for us ? |

Baron, those 2 invoices for Pattern Judges?
The last one has a pretty high VIN, I would think. Don't know about the 1st one. Anyone know what the Z51 (Z5I?) thing means? The first 2 numbers are the zone it was in, figure the 1st Z means Zone something. The last 4 digits possibly ?

Both are/were Zone-Pattern Judges.
They are identical cars too. Both were used for (idunno - promo, test drives, demonstrators, personal use by brass, fleet use, etc... idunno) and sold at later dates for good discounts. Can compare the shipping dates and pricing on them and see the Texas car had more and longer use, and more discount. The Florida car (#1) is verified as having a 1C build date. It was owned by PY member BAMA. I think he bought it in Alabam, and lives in Alabam. The Texas car (#2) i can't remember who owned it and didn't get its build date logged either. The reason we don't see the familiar 000xx order numbers on these is because that info was lost/discarded when they were re-invoiced and sold as "discount" cars (like GTO JOHN's 4spd AC also). But all 3 of these in mention, were Zone ordered and fit the Pattern builds. All 3 of these would be candidates for having more than 1 invoice - back when all that data was still intact. The original/first invoices would have shown the 000xx order numbers. GTO JOHN's 4spd AC Judge was built 2B in Arlington, Auto Judge #2 is Arlington, maybe John can give us a little more of his VIN to compare them. With #1 and #2 having the same type notations Z51 xx-xxxx - and both having state license fee - probably safe to say they had a common use/duty in their respective zones. Someone else will have to fill in that blank. Z51 seems to must be a certain identifier to a specific cause/use. Then the 2 digit zone. Then a 4 digit ID that probably just ran in succession as Z51 was issued. |

I will post my invoice and a copy of the build sheet I found on the gas tank (some parts can not be read) when I get a chance. For now: mine has 11 options, is not an A/C car, it has rally clock and gauges, auto trans, Saf-T-TR-HD rear, radio - P/B, remote mirror, console, PS, Disc Brk Pwr, deluxe belts, glass-S/R-AL, and of course The Judge.

Thanks BVZ.
Maybe the Z thing could relate back to the original invoice? GMCP, that would be great.

Regarding VIN's - it can get a lil wacky in some ways.
1B Balt that went to Canada = B151xxx 1C Balt BetWinner = B154xxx 1C Fremont = Z115xxx 1C Atlanta Oscar = A115xxx 1C Framingham = G125xxx Strange how Fremont and Atlanta ran so closely. Have an Arlington Judge (non-pattern & non-zone) Invoice - shipped 2/28/69 with R143xxx So the R141xxx from Arlington (Auto AC #2) should fit as an early car. |

3 speed walking stick and a peg leg.
This is one i'd like to find unrestored and decent - and leave it that way. Or its twin. They ordered a twin to this one a week later - with Blk Int - No Options. R143xxx shipped 2/28 |
