Company didn't come this weekend. I got the proportioning valve installed, painted and installed the torque converter cover and took the core support apart for powder coating.
I also got the drive shaft blasted, wire wheeled and clear coated. Going to have new U-joints pressed in tomorrow.
I received my order from inline tube. New proportioning valve, front brake hose brackets and brake hose clips. $89.44 with shipping.
I worked eight hours so that brings labor to 190 hours.
Labor= $3,800
Parts= $5,273.37
Total= $9,073.37

Keep up the good record keeping and reports. Very interesting to see it tracked this way. Taking pics along the way to match up with your records?

I take digital shots of everything I take apart, then tag it and bag it. Even if I don't reuse the original I know what it looks like and where it goes.
Sometimes I do slip up and forget to take pictures. And, I have been known to misplace a part or two.That's why I like this forum, I can get all the help I need.

When you removed the windshield pillar piece and the channel was visable, is the pillar piece available repo? There is some rot on mine and I have not seen this in the catalogs, any help is appreciated.

I am not sure if the pillar is repo-ed or not. You are refering to the painted piece aren't you? If so, post it in the parts wanted section. Someone here probably has them.

I've been looking for info on those items as well. Haven't had any luck whatsoever as of yet.

I took those off of my car today.The guy that is doing my car lets me help him.He had a tool for a phillips head,it twists the screw head when you hit the tool with a hammer.It removed 3 of the 4 screws in the windshield channel.The other one he drilled it.It still took some time working it and scraping the seamsealer around and under it and trying not to bend it.They were in good shape,a couple of the tabs the screws secure will need fixing.The metal underneath was a yellow color,factory sealing I guess.I don't believe they were ever removed.My batteries in my camera went dead so I didn't get pics.

Default Sunday Post early

I am posting my weekly update tonight. I may take tomorrow off. Anyway, I had new U-joints installed this week and got the drive shaft put back in.
I also cleaned some of the parts for the core support in preparation to have them powder coated.
Drive shaft work cost $89.00 and I worked 7 hours so that brings me to 197 hours labor.
Labor= $3,940.00
Parts= $5,352.37
Total= $9,292.37

I'm enjoying this thread. You're a few steps in front of me but I'm going down a very similar path. I may have a question or two in a little while.

Default Data Plate Information

I have a 1967 Lemans. I have all the documentation from Pontiac Historical and everything matches. Today someone told me that part of the serial number should be on the firewall data plate. I have attached photo. Can someone tell me what's correct.

Don't listen to what everyone tells you. The only #'s that will match from the Data Plate to the VIN are the first 5 or so. Example-- 23737? for a Lemans hardtop. This would be the first 5 on the VIN and would also be listed on your Data plate. Any other numbers DO NOT match.

That's exactly what I was talking about myself. I've looked on eBay and have never seen them whatsoever.

Did not work on the car this week. I did take the parts to the powder coater's. And I ordered some more stuff from our host.
I took time to get my bike back on the road. Put new tires, rims and a chain on it.
I talked to my body man and am looking at taking the body to him in two weeks.

Still waiting on the parts to come back from the powder coaters. Got my stuff from our host. Also bought two bottles of rear end oil. I found a 67 body that still has good quarters on it. Picking it up next saturday. I painted my shocks and tightened up the tie rod ends and spindle nuts.
I returned a part to our host that I didn't need. Parts came to $161.78 - $71.00 for the return =$90.78. Four hours labor brings that total to 201 hrs.

Labor= $4020.00
Parts= $5443.15
Total= $9463.15

Here are some pics. The first one is what I saw when the owner told me where the parts car was located.
