Ok, cool, I can swap those back easily enough. Thanks for the answer.

Like these?

Until this morning, these were NOS, in the box, 14" Honeycomb wheels & centers - I also have NOS trim rings but since they weren't available in 71/72 I couldn't bear to put them on the perfect rims. I got these with my 72 Convertible and they will be on it soon enough, but I didn't feel like swapping tires/rims on 2 cars tonight.

The tires came off the KU rims I took to get blasted & powder coated along with 2 sets of boxed lower control arms and a couple Y-99 rear sway bars.

i had a 71 GT37 with a sword stripe like this and it had the 71 GTO style tail lights in it, they where all busted, but it was soooo long ago, i cant hardley believe someone changed them..

i just parted a 72 LLM, an early car and it had 712 GTO style lights in it too..i thought that was weird..and i know that car had never been touched..

I like the new wheels, they would stay if it were my car.

I do too, but for racing it's going to get the KU wheels with a set of Firestone Wide Ovals. But for tooling around town & upsetting my neighbors it's going to get the 15" honeys off the convertible.

Mark thanks, sounds like I'm going to need more input from other owners.

If you want to smoke the tires off the line at the drag strip then go ahead with Ovals; if you want to get down the track, get some slicks.

Them ol' bias ply tires hook way better than you'd think! Hopefully with a little tweaking we'll have Chris's "White Wonder" launching like this.

That's my 72 GTO, 54,000 mile WW5 car, also a honeycomb car.

There's a few others that loiter around here too on occasion.

Yes. Also, the wiper arms are different, as is the wiper arm transmission and the wiper motor. Most of my cars are non recessed wipers, except my W-31.

As John and some others have suggested, you need the rear end of the car lower. The rallye IIs are perfect for racing the 37. You don't want that added weight of the honeycombs. Those babies are heeeavy.

The repro polyglas is nothing like the old bias ply hockey pucks. And once they get seasoned, they hook that much better. Sub 2.0 60s with that HO shouldn't be that hard.

goatless, it would take a skilled driver to hook like that and limited HP. Not saying Chris can't do it; just that it would be 10xs easier to roll slicks. I farted with bias ply for two decades; then I got slicks and thought what an idiot I was all those years.

Steve, I don't know about the "skilled driver" thing... that's me driving.
Sure, slicks hook better, but then that's part of the fun of FAST/ Pure Stock racing.

Great, thanks. What about the tail light lenses? Ribbed like the GTO or smooth like the 72? I'm not planning on running the honey's on the track - those are just for looks.
